Ibrahim Burkay, chairman of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry pointed out that the textile excellence center for technical textiles on 13 thousand sqm area will take the lead for the sustainable growth of the textile industry in the province. He said, “The business people in Bursa have to focus on higher value added products instead of standard and regular products if we want to improve our position in international arena. The center will play a vital role in the production of high value products and in the development of new technologies.

Research and development activities are important for improving the values of product, especially in the fields of smart textiles, nano products and three-dimensional fabrics. There will be a “fashion and design center” and a “composite center” in the facility. Thus, companies will be able to keep pace in the technologies of the future. In this center more than 100 different tests will be carried out, including space and defense textiles, sports textiles, composite materials, home technic textiles, geotextiles, apparel technic textiles and others.
